Job summary

Marelli is seeking a Lead Software Engineer for its Mexico site to serve as the senior technical authority for software work. This role is a hands-on leadership position, not a project manager role, and requires steering complex engineering efforts with autonomy and accountability.

You will mentor the Mexico team, set technical direction, and ensure quality and timely delivery while coordinating with US leadership and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of hands-on software engineering in embedded or automotive domains.
• Experience leading complex technical problem-solving end-to-end.
• Experience mentoring/leading other engineers and guiding teams.
• Strong English communication for US leadership interactions.
• Autonomy with high accountability and minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Own all technical tasks, deliverables, and outcomes for the site.
• Lead diagnosis and resolution of complex technical problems.
• Set and communicate technical direction; escalate when needed.
• Review quality and completeness of team work before closure.
• Mentor engineers, unblock issues, and build site capability.
• Monitor status, risks, and blockers across work streams.
• Coordinate with US leadership and translate requests into direction.
• Ensure on-time delivery without compromising quality.
