IMI plc is seeking a Foreign Trade Operations specialist to ensure compliance in import/export under the IMMEX program. You will manage invoices, IMMEX data uploads, and tariff classifications while ensuring alignment with laws, and you will coordinate with authorities to achieve proper clearance of goods.

The role requires a bachelor's degree in foreign trade, five years in trade operations, and proficiency with trade software and ERP systems. On-site work in Querétaro, Mexico is expected.

Formación

• Required education: Bachelor's degree in Foreign Trade, and/or international trade.
• Five years of experience in foreign trade operational processes, tariff classification, and free trade agreements.
• Knowledge of Customs Law, USMCA, IMMEX Decrees and related rules.
• Proactive, leadership, teamwork, and analytical skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office and trade systems.

Responsabilidades

• Prepare and review import invoices across maritime, air, land, and virtual modes with customs compliance.
• Control and close invoices and data uploads in the IMMEX Annex 24 system.
• Ensure proper clearance for IMMEX companies under current laws and inventory control.
• Review legal information in import declarations per Annex 19.
• Align physical and electronic import files with legal guidelines for compliance.
• Process expenses for customs agents to provide accurate decision data.
• Audit import files and special operations for complete documentation.
• Generate certificates of origin for USMCA purposes.
• Periodically review tariff classifications for changes in parts numbers.
• Follow up on submaquila processes and balances; report to INEGI.
• Support changes in waste, shrinkage, and burr regimes in production.
• Engage with authorities for clearance of goods (SEMARNAT, etc.).
• Apply mechanisms to mitigate customs taxes (R8va, PROSEC, USMCA).
• Support parallel foreign trade areas as needed.
• Contribute to safety culture and continuous improvement.
• Support environmental policy compliance and regulatory requirements.
