About the Role

Our Client is seeking a Senior Graphic Designer who will be responsible for crafting and overseeing the creation of comprehensive signage packages for diverse spaces and businesses, with a specialized focus on designing ADA‑compliant signage, including tactile and Braille elements. This senior position requires an exceptional creative eye, superior technical proficiency, the ability to translate complex client needs and regulatory requirements into effective signage solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design and development of diverse signage packages, including dimensional lettering and graphic sets, regulatory and safety signage, large format graphics, vehicle graphics and wraps, banners, and general commercial signage.
• Demonstrate professional proficiency and serve as the team expert in industry-standard software, including Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign), for efficient and high-quality design work.
• Design and manage the implementation of ADA‑compliant signage, including the precise specification and layout of tactile characters and Grade 2 Braille.
• Collaborate closely with project managers, the production team, and clients to ensure design intent is met, projects are executed seamlessly, and client expectations are exceeded.
• Create professional mock‑ups for client review and approval.
• Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, prioritize team workflow, and ensure adherence to deadlines and project budgets.
• Prepare detailed production‑ready artwork files, ensuring seamless transition to manufacturing.
• Process and manage print‑ready files using RIP (Raster Image Processor) software, optimizing layouts for material efficiency and print quality.
• Operate wide‑format digital printers and vinyl plotters, overseeing the printing and cutting process to ensure accurate and high‑quality output.
• Perform pre‑press checks on artwork to identify and resolve potential production issues before printing.
• Assist with quality control of printed and finished products to ensure they meet company standards.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in graphic design, specifically within the signage or large‑format printing industry.
• Proven expertise in designing ADA‑compliant signage, including tactile graphics, Grade 2 Braille, and understanding of accessibility standards.
• Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and strong knowledge of print production processes, color management, and file preparation for manufacturing.
• Familiarity with RIP software (e.g., Onyx, Caldera, FlexiSIGN‑PRO).
• Demonstrated experience operating wide‑format roll‑to‑roll printers and vinyl plotters.
• Strong understanding of print production processes, color management, and file types (vector vs. raster).
• Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to producing high‑quality work.
• Ability to lead and manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively for a team, and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present and defend design concepts to clients and management.
• Ability to work independently, mentor others, and contribute as part of a collaborative team.
