Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to join our team in Tuxtla Gutiérrez, Chiapas. You will conduct soil investigations, analyze site conditions, and design foundation systems for diverse construction projects.

The role requires a strong background in soil mechanics, foundation engineering, and site characterization, plus experience managing field work and reporting. PE is a plus and regional knowledge is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with geotechnical focus; Master's preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of geotechnical investigations and design experience.
• Proficiency in soil mechanics, foundation design, slope stability, and earth retention systems.

Responsibilities

• Plan and oversee subsurface investigations (drilling, sampling, in-situ testing) in Tuxtla Gutiérrez.
• Analyze soil and rock properties from lab tests and field data.
• Perform geotechnical analyses for foundation design, slope stability, earthworks and retaining structures.
• Prepare geotechnical reports with recommendations on foundations, bearing capacities and settlements.
