Placements24 is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to join our team in Tuxtla Gutiérrez, Chiapas. You will conduct soil investigations, analyze site conditions, and design foundation systems for diverse construction projects.

The role requires a strong background in soil mechanics, foundation engineering, and site characterization, plus experience managing field work and reporting. PE is a plus and regional knowledge is preferred.

Qualificações

Responsabilidades

About the Role

Our client, a leading geotechnical engineering firm, is seeking a skilled Geotechnical Engineer to join their team in Tuxtla Gutiérrez, Chiapas . This role is essential for conducting thorough soil investigations, analyzing ground conditions, and designing appropriate foundation systems for a wide range of construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong theoretical and practical understanding of soil mechanics, foundation engineering, and site characterization techniques. You will be responsible for managing field investigations, laboratory testing, and producing detailed geotechnical reports that inform safe and economical structural designs. This is a critical position for ensuring the stability and performance of infrastructure in Tuxtla Gutiérrez and surrounding areas.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and oversee subsurface investigations, including drilling, sampling, and in-situ testing, for projects in Tuxtla Gutiérrez .
• Analyze soil and rock properties through laboratory testing and interpretation of field data.
• Perform geotechnical analyses for foundation design, slope stability, earthworks, and retaining structures.
• Prepare comprehensive geotechnical investigation reports, including recommendations for foundation types, bearing capacities, and settlement estimations.
• Collaborate with structural engineers, civil engineers, and project managers to integrate geotechnical recommendations into project designs.
• Provide technical expertise on geotechnical issues during the design and construction phases.
• Ensure compliance with relevant geotechnical standards, codes, and best practices.
• Manage field crews and equipment for geotechnical investigations.
• Conduct site visits to observe construction activities related to earthworks and foundations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Geotechnical Engineering; Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in geotechnical engineering investigations and design.
• Proven experience in soil mechanics, foundation design (shallow and deep), slope stability analysis, and earth retention systems.
• Proficiency in geotechnical software (e.g., GeoStudio, PLAXIS) is highly desirable.
• Experience managing field investigations and coordinating laboratory testing.
• Strong understanding of geological conditions and their impact on construction in the region of Chiapas .
• Excellent report writing, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a project team.
• Registered Professional Engineer (PE) or equivalent is a plus.
