Univar Solutions is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst for Transportation Finance in Mexico City. You will partner with transportation and operations leaders, translating data into insights to drive cost efficiency and network improvements.

The role involves month-end close support, forecast updates, and executive commentary. Hybrid work from our Mexico City office, with a competitive bonus and strong benefits package.

Formación

• Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, or similar field.
• CPA or CMA designation is helpful but not required.
• 3–5 years in progressive finance roles, with transportation/logistics experience preferred.
• Strong Excel skills and familiarity with analytics tools.

Primary responsibilities will include supporting USA transportation and operations leadership by providing timely, insightful financial analysis that strengthens decision-making, improves cost visibility, and identifies opportunities to optimize transportation performance. The role will serve as a strong business partner to senior operations leaders, translating transportation data, forecast trends, and operating results into actionable insights while meeting critical close, forecast, and reporting deadlines and living the mission and values of Univar.

What You’ll Do:

• Responsible for conducting routine and ad hoc transportation analytics across modes, lanes, carriers, regions, cost centers, and operating metrics to identify risks, opportunities, and actions that improve cost performance, service levels, and operational decision-making
• Partner closely with senior transportation and operations leaders to explain financial results, evaluate performance trends, and support decisions related to freight cost, volume, rate, productivity, and network efficiency
• Prepare month-end close summaries, variance analysis, and executive-ready commentary that clearly explains transportation financial performance, key drivers, and required follow-up actions
• Support forecast loading and ongoing forecast processes, including coordinating assumptions, validating results, and ensuring transportation forecasts are accurately reflected in planning systems
• Design, maintain, and streamline reporting and analytics using tools including QuickViews, OneStream, Tableau, BW, and Excel to improve visibility, consistency, and speed of analysis
• Translate transportation data into timely and meaningful management insights through the right metrics, interpretation, and recommendations for leadership
• Assist in the development and execution of annual budgets, forecasts, and special projects that improve transportation finance processes, reporting quality, and operational performance

What You’ll Need:

• Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, or a comparable Business field, or equivalent professional experience in financial planning and analysis
• CPA or CMA designation is helpful but not required
• 3-5 years with increased scope and responsibility in progressive finance roles required, with transportation, supply chain, distribution, logistics, or operations finance experience strongly preferred
• Strong Excel skills, including charts and graphs, formulas such as SUMIFS and VLOOKUP, and pivot tables; experience with OneStream, QuickViews, Tableau, BW, SQL, or other analytics/reporting tools is a plus
• Demonstrated experience preparing month-end close summaries, forecast updates, variance analysis, and financial commentary for management or executive leadership audiences
• Prior financial experience in chemicals, distribution, transportation, logistics, or related industries is a plus
