Emerson in Mexicali is seeking a senior EHS leader to manage and advance Environmental, Health, and Safety programs across the site. You will lead investigations, risk assessments, and regulatory compliance, coaching teams to sustain safe operations.

The role emphasizes ISO 45001 familiarity, cross-functional collaboration, and continuous improvement. Strong English and Spanish communication skills are preferred; a degree in engineering or related field is required.

Formación

  • Demonstrated experience leading Environmental, Health, and Safety programs within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Experience supporting regulatory compliance initiatives, EHS management systems, audits, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Working knowledge of occupational safety and health regulations, risk assessment methodologies, incident investigation techniques, and root cause analysis.

Responsabilidades

  • Lead the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of Environmental, Health, and Safety programs across the organization.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain occupational health and safety programs that support a safe and productive work environment.
  • Lead incident, accident, and near-miss investigations using structured root cause analysis methodologies and drive corrective and preventive actions.
  • Facilitate risk assessments, Job Safety Analyses (JSA), and critical task evaluations to identify and mitigate workplace risks.
  • Monitor compliance with applicable environmental, health, safety, regulatory, and corporate requirements.
  • Manage key safety programs, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT), Confined Space Entry, Working at Heights, Contractor Safety, Machine Guarding, and Permit-to-Work systems.
  • Design and deliver EHS training and awareness programs for employees, supervisors, and contractors.
  • Promote a culture of engagement, accountability, and continuous improvement through coaching, communication, and leadership initiatives.
  • Provide technical EHS guidance and support across all levels of the organization.
  • Lead, coach, and develop EHS team members while supporting professional growth and organizational objectives.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to drive EHS performance, achieve departmental goals, and support sustainable business success.
  • Identify, communicate, and escalate significant risks, compliance concerns, and resource needs when appropriate.

For This Role, You Will Need:
  • Demonstrated experience leading Environmental, Health, and Safety programs within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Experience supporting regulatory compliance initiatives, EHS management systems, audits, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Working knowledge of occupational safety and health regulations, risk assessment methodologies, incident investigation techniques, and root cause analysis
  • Knowledge of ergonomics, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), emergency preparedness and response, and contractor safety management.
  • Ability to lead projects, manage priorities, and collaborate effectively across functions
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including advanced English proficiency.
  • A bachelor’s degree in engineering, occupational safety, environmental sciences, or a related discipline, or equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:
  • Experience with ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems.
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations, compliance requirements, and environmental management programs.
  • Experience with hazardous materials and chemical management programs.
  • Bilingual communication skills in English and Spanish.
