KION Group AG is seeking a Sr. Manufacturing Industrial Engineering Manager to drive operational excellence across the manufacturing site.

You will lead a team of industrial engineers, partner with Operations leadership, and push for productivity gains, lean manufacturing, and advanced technologies. Ideal candidates bring strong strategic thinking, hands-on problem-solving, and a proven track record of transforming high-growth manufacturing operations.

Formación

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 8–10 years of experience in Industrial Engineering roles within manufacturing (high-mix/complex ops).
  • Proven experience leading engineering teams across multiple sites or large-scale ops.
  • Strong expertise in Lean, Six Sigma (Green/Black Belt preferred), and CI methodologies.
  • Demonstrated success driving large-scale productivity and cost-reduction initiatives.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and program-management skills.
  • Excellent English and Spanish communication (bilingual).

Responsabilidades

  • Develop, communicate, and execute the IE strategy aligned to site and global objectives.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of industrial engineers across multiple shifts or sites.
  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, and operational excellence.
  • Influence cross-functional leaders and drive alignment for engineering initiatives and improvement programs.
  • Analyze workflows, material flow, and production lines to identify improvement opportunities and remove waste.
  • Conduct time studies, line balancing, capacity analysis, and ergonomic assessments.
  • Define and implement standardized work, manufacturing best practices, and performance metrics.
  • Lead Kaizen events and structured problem-solving sessions (A3, DMAIC, 5 Why).
  • Evaluate, introduce, and deploy automation solutions and Industry 4.0 tools.
  • Use data analytics, dashboards, and simulation models to predict bottlenecks and optimize plant performance.
  • Support digital transformation initiatives and adoption of new technologies.
  • Deliver improvements in labor productivity, throughput, cycle time, and costs.
  • Lead layout redesigns, capacity planning, and process flow optimization.
  • Support capital investment projects including ROI analysis, layout creation, and equipment specification.
  • Drive cost-saving initiatives through waste elimination and automation.
  • Collaborate with operations, quality, maintenance, supply chain, and engineering.
  • Provide IE support for NPI, new equipment installation, and plant expansions.
  • Act as a strategic partner to leadership with data-driven rationale.

The Sr. Manufacturing Industrial Engineering Manager is responsible for driving operational excellence across the manufacturing site by leading high-impact industrial engineering initiatives. This role oversees a team of engineers and partners closely with Operations leadership to optimize processes, improve productivity, reduce costs, and deploy advanced technologies. Tasks and Qualifications:
What You Will do in This Role:
Leadership & Strategy
  • Develop, communicate, and execute the Industrial Engineering strategy aligned to site and global business objectives.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of industrial engineers across multiple shifts or sites.

Process Optimization

Technology & Innovation
  • Evaluate, introduce, and deploy automation solutions, advanced manufacturing technologies, and Industry 4.0 tools.
  • Utilize data analytics, dashboards, and simulation models to predict bottlenecks and optimize plant performance.
  • Support digital transformation initiatives, ensuring successful adoption of new technologies.
Cost, Productivity & Capital Projects
  • Deliver measurable improvements in labor productivity, throughput, cycle time, and operational cost reduction.
  • Lead layout redesigns, capacity planning, and process flow optimization for current and future state operations.
  • Support capital investment projects including ROI analysis, layout creation, and equipment specification.
  • Drive cost-saving initiatives through waste elimination, efficiency improvements, and automation.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with operations, quality, maintenance, supply chain, and engineering to ensure seamless execution of initiatives.
  • Provide industrial engineering support for New Product Introduction (NPI), new equipment installation, and plant expansions.
  • Act as a strategic partner to leadership, escalating risks and proposing solutions with strong data-driven rationale.
What We’re Looking For:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 8–10 years of experience in Industrial Engineering roles within a manufacturing environment (high-mix/complex operations preferred).
  • Proven experience leading engineering teams, ideally across multiple sites or a large-scale operation.
  • Strong expertise in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma (Green/Black Belt preferred), and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Demonstrated success driving large-scale productivity and cost-reduction initiatives.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and program management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and Spanish (bilingual required).
