Caterpillar in Monterrey, Mexico is seeking a Drivetrain Senior Forged Component Design Engineer to own the lifecycle of gears, shafts, and forged components. You will support NPI, PIC, and cost/quality control, working with customers, suppliers, and internal manufacturing to deliver robust, cost-effective designs.

Your role emphasizes new design creation, design validation, and adoption of advanced manufacturing tech to enhance efficiency and quality across the drivetrain family.

Formación

• Knowledge of information capture methods and documentation practices.
• Experience designing SOPs and evaluating their impact on operations.
• Ability to analyze root causes and develop alternatives to fix problems.
• Strong communication skills to transmit ideas clearly across cross-functional teams.
• Knowledge of DFM guidelines and manufacturability considerations.
• Experience engineering in a manufacturing environment and implementing processes.
• Ability to design and execute product tests to ensure quality.
• Troubleshoot technical problems in manufacturing or product development contexts.

Responsabilidades

• Create new designs and resolve manufacturing or build sequence issues.
• Ensure design acceptance and manufacturing readiness for implementations.
• Adopt new technologies and processes to improve efficiency, cost, and quality.
• Plan and improve engineering procedures to enhance reliability and cost-effectiveness.
• Collaborate with marketing, purchasing, and manufacturing to meet customer and dealer requirements.
