Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry‑leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry. This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical‑based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical‑based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Job Purpose

Contribute to the understanding of customer requirements and translate them into innovative product designs for high‑density fiber optic cable assemblies. These designs will include subgroups with manageable fiber counts tailored to customer needs. The engineer will apply knowledge in mechanical engineering, physics, optics, or related fields to ensure robust and cutting‑edge solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and optimize assembly processes for both low and high‑density fiber optic products.
  • Collaborate directly with design, quality, and manufacturing teams.
  • Validate materials and methods to meet international industry standards.
  • Support pilot testing and production scale‑up activities.

Required Education / Skills :

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Applied Physics, or Optics.
  • 3+ years in process development and product design.
  • Industry Background : Telecommunications, connectivity, advanced manufacturing.
  • Experience in new product introduction within telecommunications, applied optics, or similar industries.
  • Proficiency in CAD tools and tolerance analysis.
  • Advanced English proficiency.Ability to solve complex problems independently.
Preferred
  • Experience with optical products and connectivity solutions.
  • Certifications in Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with simulation software (e.g., COMSOL).
  • Leadership and resilience in dynamic environments.
