Astrafy SA is opening a new engineering hub in Monterrey and seeks a data engineering leader to own the team as we scale. You will design and maintain scalable data pipelines using Airflow, dbt, BigQuery, and Pub/Sub, while optimizing Google Cloud infrastructure and practicing Infrastructure as Code with Terraform.

You will drive data governance, quality, and architecture evolution, mentoring engineers and promoting best practices across the organization.

Formación

• Experience with modern data stack tools (Airflow, dbt, BigQuery, Pub/Sub) is highly valued.
• Ability to design scalable data pipelines and data governance practices.
• Strong communication and collaboration across cross-functional teams.

Responsabilidades

• Optimize data infrastructure in Google Cloud for performance, cost, and security.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code with Terraform to automate provisioning.
• Establish data governance, quality, and security across the data lifecycle.
• Continuously refine data architecture to scale with business needs.
• Promote innovation and adoption of best practices in data engineering.

Your mission

You will work on different projects to help Astrafy customers get the most out of their data.

You will work on both the business and technical sides of customer use cases. Importantly, you will be on a newly opened Astrafy workplace in Monterrey, where you will progressively take ownership and responsibility over the engineering team as we scale.

Your core responsibilities will include:

• Leadership: You will act as a mentor, foster technical growth, and ensure high-quality project delivery.

• Pipeline Design & Maintenance: Design and maintain scalable data pipelines leveraging technologies such as Airflow, dbt, BigQuery, Pubsub, and other Google Cloud / Open Source tools, ensuring efficient and reliable data ingestion, transformation, and delivery.

• Cloud Infrastructure Optimization: Develop and optimize data infrastructure in the Google Cloud environment, implementing best practices for performance, cost, and security.

• Infrastructure as Code: Use Terraform to automate infrastructure provisioning and manage containerized workloads, promoting agility and repeatability across environments.

• Data Governance & Quality: Implement robust data governance, security, and quality measures, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance throughout the data lifecycle.

• Architecture Evolution: Continuously refine data architecture to accommodate changing business needs, scaling solutions to handle increased data volume and complexity.

• Innovation & Best Practices: Champion a culture of innovation by researching, evaluating, and recommending emerging data technologies and industry best practices.

Your profile

• Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge and hands‑on experience with the modern data stack tools mentioned above (or similar ones) is highly valued.

• Continuous Learning:Curiosity to stay updated on emerging data technologies, practices, and frameworks, and a passion for sharing knowledge across the organization.

• Team Player: Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively within cross‑functional environments to deliver impactful, high‑craftsmanship data solutions.

• Languages: You speak English & Spanish fluently. A working knowledge of French is a definitive plus.
