A leading cloud services provider in Mexico City seeks a Senior Data Architect to design and implement AWS solutions. The role requires 5+ years in cloud architecture, proficiency in AWS services, and strong project management skills. Formación

  • 5+ years of experience in cloud architecture and implementation, preferably with AWS.
  • 5+ years of database experience (SQL, NoSQL, Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, Kinesis).
  • 5+ years of experience delivering cloud projects or cloud-based solutions.
  • Effective communication in English, in technical and business settings.
  • 5+ years of external or internal customer-facing, complex, large-scale project management experience.
  • AWS Professional-level certifications preferred.

Overview

The Professional Services (ProServe) team is seeking a Senior Data Architect to join AWS. In this role, you\'ll work closely with customers to design, implement, and manage AWS solutions that meet their technical requirements and business objectives. You will drive customer success through the cloud journey, providing technical expertise and best practices throughout the project lifecycle. You will architect complex, scalable, and secure solutions tailored to customer needs, gather requirements, assess current infrastructure, and propose migration strategies to AWS.

Responsibilities
  • Define and implement data architectures (Data Lake, Lake House, Data Mesh, etc.). Engagements include on-site projects proving the use of AWS Data services to support distributed computing solutions that often span private and public cloud services.
  • Deliver on-site technical assessments with partners and customers, participate in pre-sales visits, understand requirements, and create packaged Data & Analytics service offerings.
  • Engage with the customer’s business and technology stakeholders to create a vision of a data-driven enterprise; create artifacts that promote code reuse.
  • Collaborate with AWS field sales, pre-sales, training and support teams to help partners and customers learn and use AWS services such as Athena, Glue, Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, EMR and Redshift.
  • Travel to client locations and deliver professional services as needed, up to 50%.

Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in cloud architecture and implementation, preferably with AWS
  • 5+ years of database experience (SQL, NoSQL, Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, Kinesis)
  • 5+ years of experience delivering cloud projects or cloud-based solutions
  • Effective communication in English, in technical and business settings
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, or related field
  • 5+ years of external or internal customer-facing, complex, large-scale project management experience
  • Proficiency in AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, IAM, VPC, CloudFormation)
  • Experience with automation and scripting (Terraform, Python)
  • Expertise in performance optimization and cost management for cloud environments
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • AWS Professional-level certifications (e.g., Solutions Architect Professional, DevOps Engineer Professional) preferred
