FORTNA is hiring a Sr. Controls Engineer to drive design, functionality and testing of upper-level automated sortation systems. The candidate will lead and assist in the design and programming of new projects, and mentor junior engineers.

This role requires expertise in PLC and HMI programming, I/O and hardware troubleshooting, and collaboration with customers and vendors. Travel up to 40–50% and site-based work at client facilities is expected.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or comparable.
• 4–7 years of experience within an industrial controls environment.
• PLC programming (Rockwell) and HMI programming (FactoryTalk View, Ignition, Wonderware, Indusoft).
• Input and output device design, implementation, and troubleshooting.
• Industrial communication networks (EtherNet/IP, Profinet, Modbus, etc.).

Responsabilidades

• Write and implement modular PLC code and assist on-site controls tasks.
• Design and develop HMI using Ignition, Wonderware, FactoryTalk View, or FactoryTalk Optix.
• Implement PLC and HMI programs to satisfy specifications.
• Collaborate with clients, vendors and internal teams throughout design and execution.
• Provide accurate as-built drawings for approval and documentation.
• Commission and troubleshoot complex automated systems and support site commissioning.
