Job summary

MSCI Inc. seeks an experienced Vice President, Commercial Legal Counsel to partner with business and product teams on sophisticated technology, data, and IP transactions. You will shape contracts, develop scalable templates, and leverage AI-enabled processes to speed agreements while protecting MSCI and its clients.

The role combines strong legal judgment with commercial acumen in a global, fast-moving environment, offering strategic impact across products and markets.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in commercial law or related field.
• Experience negotiating technology, data and IP transactions.
• Qualified to practice in-house in New York or similar jurisdiction.
• Ability to partner with product and business teams and drive scalable contracting.

Responsibilities

• Lead negotiations on complex technology and data transactions and licenses.
• Provide practical, business-oriented legal advice across MSCI products and services.
• Develop and evolve contract templates and legal frameworks for new offerings.
• Collaborate with cross-functional and global teams to accelerate contracting at scale.
• Support automation and AI initiatives within contracting processes.
