Palmstreet is hiring a Contador Público Certificado (Senior Accountant) to own Mexico finance, from entity setup to tax compliance and Mexican GAAP. You will report to the Head of Finance and work closely with engineers and advisors.

The role is fully remote within Mexico, overlapping with US Pacific time. Ideal candidates have 7+ years in Mexican tax and accounting, CFDI 4.0 expertise, and strong English; AI tools familiarity is a plus.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in Mexican tax and accounting, including time at a Big 4 or mid-size firm and in-house.
• Hands-on experience with CFDI 4.0 at high volume and with electronic accounting submissions.
• Working knowledge of the digital platform regime (withholding on platform sellers), IVA on digital services and transfer pricing.
• Experience setting up a Mexican subsidiary for a foreign parent.
• Professional working proficiency in English; write memos and present to US-based Head of Finance weekly.

Responsabilités

• Lead incorporation of the Mexican subsidiary with outside counsel; entity type, notarial deed, tax domicile and other registrations.
• Own Palmstreet’s tax and VAT obligations as a digital platform; manage monthly SAT returns and withholding."
• Define how we collect and validate seller tax data and withholding rates; ensure timely filings.
• Keep Mexican GAAP (NIF) and SAT electronic accounting; run monthly close for Mexico; support US GAAP reporting for consolidation.
• Oversee AP and seller payments in Mexico; transition to automated payouts; collaborate with cross-functional teams.
