Job summary

Bluelight is seeking a Business Analyst to translate business problems into clear, buildable requirements. You’ll bridge clients, product, and engineering—leading discovery, mapping processes, and writing user stories with acceptance criteria.

You'll work across client builds, maintenance, and Bluelight's internal products, shaping scope, estimates, and delivery in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years as a Business Analyst, Product Analyst, or similar role on software projects.
• Strong experience writing user stories and acceptance criteria in an agile/Scrum environment.
• Proven ability to run discovery sessions and turn ambiguous input into structured requirements.
• Comfort with process mapping and data modeling at a business level.

Responsibilities

• Lead stakeholder interviews and workshops to understand goals, workflows, and pain points.
• Document current-state and future-state processes, business rules, data definitions, and edge cases.
• Support new-project sizing by breaking scope into epics and stories for engineering estimation.
• Identify assumptions, risks, dependencies, and questions early.
• Write clear user stories with testable acceptance criteria in Jira.
• Prioritize and groom backlog with the Product Manager.
• Coordinate with UI/UX in Figma to ensure flows match requirements.
• Support sprint demos and coordinate user acceptance testing.
• Keep requirements organized in Google Drive with decisions and rationale.
• Capture compliance, security, and SOC 2 considerations as explicit requirements.
• Act as a trusted contact for scope and requirements questions.
• Translate between business and technical audiences clearly.
