Job summary

Bluelight is seeking a Business Analyst to turn business problems into clear, buildable requirements. You’ll sit between clients, the product team, and engineers: running discovery, mapping processes, writing user stories and acceptance criteria, and making sure what we ship solves the problem.

You’ll work across client builds, client maintenance engagements, and Bluelight's internal products, helping scope and estimate projects so solutions meet real needs while aligning with security

Qualifications

• 3+ years as a Business Analyst or similar role on software projects.
• Strong experience writing user stories and acceptance criteria in an agile environment.
• Proven ability to run discovery sessions and translate input into structured requirements.
• Comfort with process mapping and data modeling at a business level.
• Hands-on experience with Jira; familiarity with Figma and collaborative docs.
• Excellent written and spoken English; comfortable leading client meetings with US stakeholders.
• Enough technical literacy to discuss APIs, integrations, and system constraints.

Responsibilities

• Lead stakeholder interviews and workshops to understand goals and pain points.
• Document current and future state processes, rules, and data definitions.
• Break scope into epics and stories to support reliable engineering estimates.
• Identify risks, dependencies, and tradeoffs early and drive resolution.
• Write clear user stories with testable acceptance criteria in Jira.
• Prioritize and groom the backlog with the Product Manager ahead of sprints.
• Collaborate with UI/UX design to ensure flows match requirements.
• Answer engineering questions and maintain current requirements during development.
• Coordinate testing and ensure acceptance criteria translate to test coverage.
• Support demos, user acceptance testing, and project documentation in Google Drive.
• Capture compliance and security requirements (SOC 2 considerations) explicitly.
