Job summary

BairesDev is seeking an experienced Apache Iceberg Developer to advance distributed data table formats and metadata management within a global team. You will contribute to Apache Iceberg and related ecosystem projects while focusing on schema evolution and scalable table architecture.

Join a highly skilled, multinational group driving impact with Spark, Flink, and Hive integrations for batch and streaming workloads. Strong Java expertise with Scala/Python for ecosystem integrations is essential.

Qualifications

10+ years of software development experience.
Strong distributed computing and large-scale data processing knowledge.
Deep understanding of Apache Iceberg architecture, schema evolution, and partitioning.
Proficiency in Java; Scala or Python for ecosystem integrations.
Experience with performance tuning of metadata-heavy systems.
Contributions to Apache open source projects (Iceberg, Spark, Hive, Flink) desirable.
Advanced English.

Responsibilities

Contribute actively to Apache Iceberg and related open source projects as a core contributor.
Implement and optimize table formats, snapshots, partitioning, and metadata management.
Support integrations with processing engines like Spark, Flink, and Hive for batch and streaming workloads.
Collaborate with engineering teams on system integration and deployment.
