Job summary

Coupa Software Inc. in Prague is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to expand our Data Capture Research team for Sourcing. You will lead end-to-end sourcing research, shaping models across supplier discovery, should-cost modelling, auction design and multimodal document understanding.

You will work in a small, senior team with direct access to Product and the AI Platform team, building greenfield solutions on modern ML foundations for a global customer base.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in applied ML, data science, ML engineering or quantitative research, with models or decision systems shipped to production.
• Strong Python and SQL skills with large-scale data handling.
• Deep modelling discipline across multiple areas; curiosity about the rest.
• Scientific rigour in experiment design, leakage control and robust evaluation.
• Ownership and curiosity for greenfield, ambiguous problem spaces.
• Interest in procurement, supply chains or market design is welcome but not required.

Responsibilities

• Own sourcing research initiatives end to end—from framing the problem on real spend data, through experiments, to a model running in production.
• Build what does not exist yet; define the first version in the absence of a baseline.
• Turn the network into a training set by defining datasets, labels and benchmarks.
• Design and run bold experiments with fast prototypes and honest baselines.
• Build on our T-LLM foundations for document-based signals (RFPs, specs, quotes, contracts).
• Ship with deployment in mind: consider inference cost, latency and robustness.
• Collaborate with Coupa's Sourcing product and data teams and the AI Platform team; document decisions.
