Job summary

Pentangle Tech Services | P5 Group is seeking a senior software engineer to lead AI/engineering content velocity. You will expand AI harnesses, integrate LLMs/VLMs into production, and drive scalable backend orchestration with Python/FastAPI in a largely serverless environment.

You will mentor engineers, enforce architectural standards, and own CI/CD pipelines, IaC, and high-volume workflow orchestration across multi-cloud environments.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience with at least 2+ years in a technical leadership or principal-level capacity.
• Proven experience building agentic workflows, prompt engineering, integrating LLMs/VLMs into production systems, and utilizing AI evaluation frameworks.
• Deep, hands-on expertise with AWS, Azure, and/or GCP serverless architectures.
• Expert-level Python proficiency. Experience building high-throughput APIs using FastAPI, managing database migrations, and handling async/multiprocessing workflows.
• Knowledge of Terraform IaC and CI/CD pipelines (e.g. GHA).
• Familiarity with image and video processing libraries. Visual rendering workflows is highly desirable.
• Strong experience with the C4 model and other traditional design artifacts

Responsibilities

• Expand our core AI harnesses and pipelines.
• Integrate and evaluate state-of-the-art LLMs, Vision-Language Models (VLMs), and specialized APIs to autonomously manipulate various asset formats.
• Oversee and improve our Infrastructure as Code across all environments.
• Maintain and optimize CI/CD pipelines (Docker/Container Registry deployments).
• Mentor senior and mid-level engineers, conduct architectural reviews, and uphold testing/AI eval standards.
• Contribute across backend and AI orchestration responsibilities.
• Build and maintain scalable backend microservices using Python and FastAPI, deployed on serverless infrastructure.
• Develop tools, constraints (guardrails), and deterministic functions used by AI agents to edit visual assets.
• Implement complex distributed workflows for high-volume job orchestration (EventBridge, queues, DynamoDB streams).
• Terraform contributions to provision and manage cloud resources safely across environments.
• Contribute to modern backend orchestration or web frontends.
• Write robust unit and end-to-end tests to ensure API and AI outputs are stable for deployments.
