Job summary

Dekko seeks a Senior Advanced Manufacturing Engineer to lead development and deployment of advanced processes for wire harness production across its global facilities. You will own process design, capability, and automation initiatives to improve productivity and quality.

You will drive Lean/Six Sigma initiatives, guide NPI readiness, manage capital projects, and mentor engineers while collaborating with Operations, Quality, and Product Engineering.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of NPI, PFMEA, Control Plans, Process Capability Studies, and electrical testing methodologies.
  • Experience leading capital equipment projects from concept through production.

Job Summary

The Senior Advanced Manufacturing Engineer (AME) – Wire Harness Manufacturing is responsible for leading the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of advanced manufacturing processes across Dekko's wire harness operations. This position serves as the technical expert for wire cutting, crimping, harness assembly, electrical testing, and process automation while leading capital projects, new product introductions (NPI), manufacturing optimization, and operational excellence initiatives across Dekko's global manufacturing facilities.

Advanced Manufacturing Engineering
  • Lead the design, development, and optimization of advanced manufacturing processes for wire harness production.
  • Develop manufacturing standards and process capability across wire cutting, stripping, crimping, harness assembly, electrical testing, and automation.
  • Lead manufacturing readiness activities for New Product Introductions (NPI).
Capital Projects & Equipment
  • Develop equipment specifications and capital investment justifications.
  • Evaluate manufacturing technologies, automation solutions, and equipment suppliers.
  • Lead equipment installation, commissioning, validation, and production launch activities.
  • Lead Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Kaizen initiatives across wire harness manufacturing.
  • Improve productivity, quality, throughput, and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Drive cost reduction and operational excellence initiatives.
Quality & Process Control
  • Develop Process PFMEAs, Control Plans, Standard Work, and Process Capability Studies.
  • Lead structured problem-solving using 8D, DMAIC, A3 and Root Cause Analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with IPC/WHMA-A-620, quality systems and customer requirements.
Program & Cross Functional Leadership
  • Collaborate with Operations, Quality, Maintenance, Tooling, Supply Chain, and Product Engineering.
  • Lead technical activities supporting New Product Introductions (NPI).
  • Mentor Manufacturing Engineers and Process Engineers.
  • Support customer audits, engineering reviews, and global manufacturing initiatives.
Education
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering, or related Engineering discipline.
Experience Requirements
  • Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Extensive experience in wire harness manufacturing including wire cutting, stripping, crimping, harness assembly, electrical testing, and process validation.
  • Experience leading capital equipment projects from concept through production implementation.
  • Strong knowledge of NPI, PFMEA, Control Plans, Process Capability Studies, and electrical testing methodologies.
  • Experience implementing Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives.
  • Experience supporting multiple manufacturing facilities is highly preferred.
  • Availability to travel domestically and internationally.
