Apex Systems is seeking a Senior Accountant to support the revenue recognition, financial reporting, and compliance under U.S. GAAP and ASC 606. This role partners with Legal, Sales Operations, and IT to strengthen controls and drive accurate results.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance and 4+ years of revenue-focused accounting, with advanced Excel and strong analytical skills. Join a collaborative team with SOX compliance responsibilities.

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 4+ years of progressive accounting experience with revenue focus.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and ASC 606.

  • Experience analyzing large data sets and reconciling issues.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for non-financial stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsabilidades

  • Review contracts to ensure ASC 606 revenue recognition and policy compliance.
  • Analyze complex revenue arrangements (fixed-fee, time-and-materials, milestones).
  • Lead month-end and quarter-end close activities for revenue accounting.
  • Prepare revenue accounting documentation and support audits.
  • Collaborate with Legal, Sales, IT, and Corporate Accounting to improve processes and reporting.

As part of our Corporate Accounting team, the Senior Accountant will play a critical role in supporting our Solutions business by ensuring accurate revenue recognition, financial reporting, and compliance with U.S. GAAP and ASC 606. This position partners closely with Legal, Sales Operations, Engagement Management, IT, and Corporate Accounting teams to support business growth while maintaining strong financial controls.

Responsibilities

Review customer contracts and consulting service agreements to ensure accurate revenue recognition in compliance with ASC 606 and company policies. Analyze complex revenue arrangements, including fixed-fee, time-and-materials, milestone-based, and other service engagements. Manage month-end and quarter-end close activities related to revenue accounting, including journal entries, reconciliations, financial analyses, and reporting support. Partner with Legal, Sales, Engagement Management, and Corporate Accounting teams to evaluate contract terms, provide accounting guidance, and support project financial performance. Prepare and maintain revenue accounting documentation, support internal and external audits, and ensure compliance with internal controls and SOX requirements. Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to enhance systems, improve revenue-related processes, automate manual activities, and strengthen reporting accuracy and operational efficiency.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of progressive accounting experience with significant revenue accounting responsibilities.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and ASC 606 revenue recognition standards.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with strong analytical capabilities.
  • Experience analyzing large data sets and resolving reconciliation issues.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical accounting concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
  • CPA certification or equivalent.
  • Public accounting experience, preferably with a national or Big Four accounting firm.
  • Experience with project accounting, professional services automation (PSA), or revenue management systems.
  • Knowledge of SOX compliance and internal control frameworks.
