Job summary

Amazon University Talent Acquisition is seeking a Software Development Engineer Intern to solve real customer problems with scalable services. Interns will own the full code lifecycle from design to deployment, with mentorship and growth opportunities in a fast-paced environment.

Interns work full-time in office settings, Monday–Friday, up to 40 hours weekly, typically 8am–5pm. Applicants must have at least one semester remaining after the internship and be prepared for team-specific working

Qualifications

• Enrolled in or have completed Bachelor’s degree in CS/CE/DS/EE or related fields.
• Knowledge of programming languages such as C/C++, Python, Java or Perl.
• Knowledge of CS fundamentals: OOD, OS, algorithms, data structures, complexity analysis.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools in academic or professional settings.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-disciplinary Amazonians to design, build, and operate innovative products and services for customers.
• Break down complex problems into solvable components before implementation.
• Contribute to the design and development of scalable, reliable services with distributed-systems scope varying by team.
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
• Create clear and accurate technical documentation.
• Write clean, maintainable code following best practices.
• Work in an agile environment with CI/CD and on-call responsibilities.
• Demonstrate operational excellence through monitoring and troubleshooting production issues.
