Job summary

Ciena Corporation is seeking a skilled Manufacturing Test Engineer to bolster the testing of routers and switches. You will execute test plans, develop automated scripts in Python, and troubleshoot hardware issues uncovered during production.

Collaborating with engineering, contract manufacturers, and vendors, you will help optimize test coverage and standardize test sequences to support reliable product releases in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science.
• 3+ years of experience in manufacturing testing of routers and switches.
• Python scripting for automated tests; knowledge of embedded software diagnostics (C/C++) is a plus.
• Knowledge of router and switch architectures.
• Hardware debugging and troubleshooting of routing and switching products.
• Networking protocols (TCP/IP, Ethernet, VLANs); familiarity with Windows and Linux.

Responsibilities

The must haves:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Experience: 3+ years of experience in manufacturing testing of routers and switches.
• Application of Python scripting for development and debugging of automated manufacturing tests; experience in embedded software diagnostics (C/C++) is an asset.
• Knowledge of router and switch architectures.
• Application of hardware debugging and troubleshooting techniques for routing and switching products.
• Knowledge of networking protocols, including TCP/IP, Ethernet, and VLANs, along with general Windows and Linux utilization.
• Professional working proficiency in Spanish and English, with application of problem-solving and technical communication skills.

Nice to haves:

• Experience in embedded software diagnostics using C/C++.
