As a Risk Operations Associate, you'll execute and improve the operational programs required to meet financial partner and regulatory requirements, including those of card networks and global financial institutions. You'll investigate complex partner and merchant activity, make informed decisions, and take ownership of cases from initial review through resolution. This role is well suited to someone who is naturally curious, enjoys solving ambiguous problems, and can use sound judgment rather than relying only on a prescribed workflow.
Minimum requirements 1.5+ years of experience in risk operations, fraud prevention, investigations, disputes, chargebacks, financial intelligence, trust and safety, compliance, payments, or any related operational roles. Advanced conversational English fluency. All interviews for this role will be conducted in English. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated investigation skills, including the ability to gather information from multiple sources, assess evidence, and reach sound conclusions. Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills, with a track record of taking ownership and resolving problems end to end. Ability to work autonomously in an ambiguous environment, make informed decisions, and know when to bring in the right partners. A proactive, curious approach to understanding root causes, challenging assumptions, and improving how work gets done. High attention to detail and a consistent approach to documentation, quality, and process adherence. Ability to work 100% in office, from Monday through Friday, from Stripe's Mexico City office at Av. Paseo de la Reforma 180.
