General Motors de México seeks a Resident Product Engineer to represent Design and Product Engineering at Engine, Transmission, RESS, or Drive Unit plants. You will bridge engineering and manufacturing, guiding issue resolution, process changes, and new design readiness.

Root cause analysis, warranty coordination, and collaboration with cross-functional teams are essential, with travel up to 5–25%. This onsite role offers relocation benefits depending on assignment.

Formación

• BS in mechanical, electrical, industrial, manufacturing, or related field.
• 5+ years in transmission design-release-quality experience.
• Advanced English proficiency.
• Know engineering processes/tools (ECM, GPDP, PRTS-JIRA, DFMEA/PFMEA, QDAP, P-release, PPAP, TWOs).
• Willingness to travel as required.

Responsabilidades

• Serve as focal point for communicating product/process issues between engineering and manufacturing.
• Lead resolution of component and assembly issues related to design specifications.
• Address warranty issues with site quality engineering group.
• Address material scrap via quality holds and salvage/repair procedures.
• Share learnings to strengthen BOM/DFM through DFM/DFA input.
• Support introduction of new designs into production via PTRs, ETRs, SPCRs, readiness reviews.
• Engage with plant change management on manufacturing changes affecting quality.
• Assist in releasing BOD/BOM compliant designs for production.
• Plan and execute pilot, preproduction, and prototype builds.
• Participate in cross-functional meetings (PRT, PET, PAPIR, CPIT, DSE).
• Communicate with plant personnel about product function and requirements.
• Support BIQ activities and continuous quality improvement.
• Domestic travel up to 5%.
