Job summary

The role includes cultural mediation, confidentiality, documentation of services, and staying current with medical terminology. This independent contractor position offers an hourly pay rate and a structured training program in EST hours.

Qualifications

• Fluency in Spanish and English required.
• Experience in medical interpretation or translation.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and familiarity with the healthcare system is important.
• Good communication, cultural sensitivity, and ability to work under pressure are essential.

Responsibilities

• Interpret medical terminology, diagnoses, treatments between Spanish-speaking patients and healthcare providers.
• Provide cultural mediation to help patients understand the healthcare system.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in interpretation.
• Document interpretation services (date, time, duration, type).
• Stay up-to-date with medical terminology and healthcare practices.
