Job summary

Tala is a remote-first company seeking a Senior SecOps Engineer to design and maintain cloud security in AWS with automation and DevSecOps mindset. You will implement security hardening, detection, logging, and response for our SaaS platform while collaborating with Product, Engineering and IT teams.

You will bring 5–7 years of AWS/GCP security experience, familiarity with IaC, container security, and threat detection, plus optional Python scripting and security certifications.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of experience deploying and administering security infra in AWS, IaC focused.
• Hands-on with AWS or GCP; securing IaaS including WAFs, security groups, EC2, EKS/GKE, ECR/GCR, S3/Cloud Storage, RDS/Cloud SQL, logging and monitoring.
• Experience with CI/CD tools and shift-left security strategies.
• DLP and endpoint security experience is a plus.
• Cloud-native security across authN, access management, API security, Linux security, vulnerability scanning, threat detection, firewalls, encryption, and container security.
• Python for automation is a plus.
• Certifications from AWS, GCP, CISSP, CEH, OSCP preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement defense-in-depth security for our customer-facing SaaS platform in AWS.
• Automate security configuration, vulnerability management, logging and incident response.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering and IT in a DevSecOps model using FWs, IAM, WAFs, and container security.
• Assist in incident response and triage security events as needed.
• Apply AI to security operations to streamline incident management and resolution.
