Job summary

CrewBloom, Inc. is seeking a Senior Cloud Database Administrator to join a sprint-based DBRE team in a remote-friendly setting. You’ll manage MySQL/InnoDB on AWS RDS and Aurora MySQL, automate tasks, and improve reliability while troubleshooting complex production incidents.

You will design backup/DR procedures, optimize queries, and contribute to on-call incident response within an Agile team, with a strong emphasis on automation and self-service capabilities.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in Database Administration, Engineering, or Reliability Engineering.
• Extensive hands on MySQL with InnoDB internals and AWS RDS/Aurora experience.
• Strong scripting and automation skills; proficient in Python/Bash/SQL/AWS CLI.

Responsibilities

• Administer and optimize MySQL/InnoDB on AWS RDS and Aurora MySQL.
• Troubleshoot production issues, slow queries, replication lag, and deadlocks.
• Tune performance through execution plan analysis and index optimization.
• Design and maintain backup, PITR, and disaster recovery procedures.
• Support high availability with Aurora clusters, Multi-AZ, and read replicas.
• Monitor health and capacity using CloudWatch and Insights; recommend right-sizing.
• Automate DBA operations and build self-service capabilities using IaC.
