Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a visionary Jefe/a de Planificación Minera y Recursos to lead long-term mine plans and resource development for a globally active mining portfolio. This remote-first role requires guiding resource estimation, mine design, and economic evaluation while collaborating across exploration, operations, and finance teams.

Ideal candidates will have 12+ years in planning and leadership, fluency in Spanish and English, and deep experience with international codes.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or PhD in Mining Engineering, Geology, or related field with focus on resource evaluation.
• Minimum of 12 years in mine planning, resource estimation, and strategic resource management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Proven track record in planning and developing mining projects from exploration to production.
• In-depth knowledge of mine planning software, geological modeling tools, and economic evaluation techniques.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong understanding of international mining codes and reporting standards.
• Proven ability to lead and manage remote teams effectively.
• Fluency in Spanish and English is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and execution of long-term mine plans and resource development strategies.
• Oversee resource and reserve estimation processes, ensuring compliance with industry standards (e.g., JORC, NI 43-101).
• Collaborate with exploration teams to integrate new discoveries into the resource base.
• Direct mine design and optimization efforts to maximize economic recovery and operational efficiency.
• Conduct feasibility studies and economic evaluations for new and existing projects.
• Manage relationships with external consultants and regulatory bodies.
• Develop and mentor a high-performing team of geologists, engineers, and resource professionals.
• Provide strategic guidance to senior management on resource potential and investment opportunities.
