Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Software Reliability and Test Engineer for a fully remote role focused on automotive software testing and reliability. You will design test strategies, develop automated frameworks, and analyze results across infotainment, connectivity, and autonomous driving features.

The ideal candidate has 3-5 years in software QA for embedded/automotive systems, strong scripting skills, and experience with Selenium, Jenkins, and pytest, plus Git and Jira for tracking defects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in software testing and quality assurance for embedded or automotive software.
• Proficiency in at least one scripting language (Python, Perl, Shell) for test automation.
• Experience with test automation tools and frameworks (Selenium, Jenkins, pytest).
• Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, principles, and best practices.
• Familiarity with automotive CAN/LIN protocols is a plus.
• Experience with Git and Jira for version control and defect tracking.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive test plans and test cases for automotive software applications.
• Design, build, and maintain automated test frameworks and scripts using relevant tools and languages.
• Execute various types of testing, including functional, regression, performance, integration, and system testing.
• Identify, document, and track software defects using bug tracking systems.
• Analyze test results, generate reports, and communicate findings to development and product teams.
• Collaborate with software developers to understand product features and ensure adequate test coverage.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of testing processes and methodologies.
• Work with hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) test environments and simulation tools.
• Ensure software meets automotive safety and reliability standards (e.g., ISO 26262).
• Participate in agile development ceremonies and contribute to team goals in a remote setting.
