Job summary

Blacksmith Agency is building an AI automation layer into every part of how we work. As Automation Engineer at Blacksmith, you own and ship our internal automation roadmap. This is a builder role, not a research role.

You will not be training models, you will be building production systems on top of them. You will collaborate with engineering and delivery leadership to turn a documented automation roadmap into shipped, working systems, leveraging LangChain, LangGraph and related tools.

Qualifications

2+ years building production software with Python or Node.js.
Hands-on experience with LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen.
Proven API integration with OpenAI or Anthropic.
Strong understanding of REST APIs, webhooks and cloud deployment.
English sufficient for async written work with a US-based team.

Responsibilities

Build agentic workflows using LangChain/LangGraph.
Integrate with OpenAI and Anthropic APIs including tool use.
Develop internal tools to reduce manual hours across our design and development production process.
Create automation pipelines connecting WordPress, Figma, Google Workspace and our internal CMS.
Develop MCP server integrations as part of our broader AI stack.
