OP Mobility in Mexico is seeking an experienced professional to drive supplier quality initiatives for Exterior & Lighting. You will lead supplier selection, evaluation, and development to ensure quality and cost targets are met.

As part of a cross-functional team, you will train suppliers, manage audits (e.g. VDA 6.3), and support continuous improvement programs to align with OEM requirements and country SDL guidelines.

Formación

  • 5 years’ experience in Automotive industry, Purchasing, Quality, Program or operations background.
  • Technical knowledge of commodities (chrome parts, metal parts, injected plastic parts, fasteners, paint, resin, glue, process means, logistics).
  • Automotive global requirements, good command of English.
  • Rigor, perseverance, influence, teamwork.
  • Leadership and ability to animate a network.
  • Communication and negotiation skills.
  • English mandatory/country language is a plus.

Responsabilidades

  • Contribute to the selection of new suppliers in accordance with quality and purchasing strategies.
  • Support in the evaluation of (audit) new potential suppliers following purchasing strategy.
  • Prepare for and participates in Sourcing Committees (on behalf of country SDL), provide motivating recommendations, and prevent incorrect sourcing decisions.
  • Supports SDL to manage supplier quality progress plans to achieve Exterior & Lighting quality objectives and support purchasing commodity strategy.
  • Evaluate supplier performance in serial life (with the support of the plant), manage the audits of suppliers when necessary (e.g. VDA 6.3 Technical audits).
  • Communicate & train suppliers on Exterior & Lighting and OEM requirements as part of the supplier development plan.
  • Support SDL to manage the actions quality improvement of selected suppliers: “Suppliers Continuous Improvement” process.
  • Provide assistance when Program Supplier (SE) have difficulty in obtaining APQP deliverables on time and in the right quality.
  • Support Program teams in supplier conflict resolution concerning agreements, specifications, customer requirements and accountabilities.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of supplier quality processes standards and training under guidelines of the country SDL

2.0 Contribute to the development and improvement of suppliers
  • Supports SDL to manage supplier quality progress plans to achieve Exterior & Lighting quality objectives and support purchasing commodity strategy

3.0 Support plants in the reduction of Demerits & CNQ for suppliers
  • Support plant SQE in the management of supplier non-quality
  • Support on ensuring that Exterior & Lighting supplier quality processes and standards are followed by OP plants and SILS: NCN management, escalation L0, cost recovery, re-qualifications audits, quality key suppliers’ management, incoming inspection, etc. … Train and coach plant SQE when necessary
  • Contribute to active communication and process improvement between supplier and OP teams
4.0 Support Program management during the launch phase
  • Provide assistance when Program Supplier (SE) have difficulty in obtaining APQP deliverables on time and in the right quality
  • Support Program teams in supplier conflict resolution concerning agreements, specifications, customer requirements and accountabilities
5.0 Contribute to the development and improvement of supplier quality processes standards and training under guidelines of the country SDL
  • Share knowledge and experience inside Exterior & Lighting, prepare Lessons Learned and good practices based on the experience pf supplier quality management. Ensure communication of these documents in the Exterior & Lighting Lessons Learned database.
  • Support the country SDL in training on supplier quality processes and standards, and train Exterior é Lighting relevant teams (SQE, SE, buyers, …)
  • Keep abreast of industry changes. Provide inputs, ideas, and recommendations to continuously improve supplier quality processes, tools and standards.
