Cognizant in Mexico City is seeking a Lead Quality Engineer to drive automated testing for complex bill inquiry journeys in a large multinational environment.

You will design scalable Playwright web automation, develop RestAssured API suites, and mentor peers while collaborating with product, development, and business analysis teams to ensure release-quality software.

Formación

• Strong hands-on expertise in Playwright automation for modern web applications.
• Proven experience with RestAssured to validate bill inquiry APIs and data integrity.
• Solid JavaScript programming skills to design modular automation code.
• Practical domain experience in bill inquiry handling and billing scenarios.
• 5–8 years in quality engineering or test automation within agile teams.
• Clear communication with cross-functional partners in a multinational setting; inclusive hybrid culture.
• ISTQB Certified Tester Advanced Level Test Automation Engineer or equivalent certification.

Responsabilidades

• Drive end-to-end quality strategy for bill inquiry applications and reduce defects.
• Design and implement scalable Playwright-based test automation frameworks.
• Develop RestAssured API test suites validating contracts and error handling.
• Author JavaScript utilities to improve maintainability and onboarding.
• Coordinate with product owners, developers and business analysts on requirements.
• Execute functional, regression, integration and exploratory testing cycles.
• Analyze production incidents and translate findings into regression tests and improvements.
• Mentor teammates on automation standards and test design techniques.
• Establish quality metrics and monitor release readiness and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with performance teams to simulate real-world bill inquiry traffic.
• Plan daily priorities and communicate risks in a hybrid work model.
• Document and refine test cases and processes in shared repositories.

Serve as a lead quality engineer for hybrid model projects designing and executing automated testing solutions using Playwright RestAssured and JavaScript for complex bill inquiry handling journeys in a large scale multinational environment. Ensure high reliability of customer billing experiences through robust test strategies defect prevention and close collaboration with cross functional product and engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Drive end to end quality strategy for bill inquiry handling applications by defining test approaches that maximize coverage for customer billing journeys and reduce production defects through proactive risk based planning.
• Design and implement scalable test automation frameworks using Playwright for web channels so that repetitive regression scenarios are executed consistently and efficiently across multiple environments.
• Develop robust RestAssured based API test suites that validate bill inquiry service contracts data integrity error handling and performance to ensure reliable integration between channels and backend platforms.
• Author JavaScript based automation utilities and helpers that improve maintainability readability and reusability of test scripts while simplifying onboarding for new team members.
• Coordinate hybrid model collaboration with product owners developers and business analysts to clarify bill inquiry requirements refine acceptance criteria and prevent defects before implementation.
• Execute functional regression integration and exploratory testing cycles for bill inquiry handling features while documenting clear steps outcomes and evidence that enable rapid defect resolution.
• Analyze production incidents and quality trends related to billing inquiries then translate findings into regression scenarios process improvements and preventive quality controls.
• Mentor team members on quality engineering practices including automation standards coding guidelines and test design techniques so that overall team capability and consistency improve over time.
• Establish and monitor quality metrics such as defect leakage automation coverage and execution reliability to provide transparent insight into release readiness and continuous improvement opportunities.
• Collaborate with performance and reliability specialists to identify test scenarios that simulate real world bill inquiry traffic patterns and reduce risks of latency or failures in peak periods.
• Coordinate day shift activities with distributed teams by planning daily test priorities tracking progress and communicating risks or blockers early to keep delivery on schedule in the hybrid work model.
• Document and continuously refine test cases automation suites and quality processes in shared repositories so that knowledge remains accessible and reusable across projects and future releases.
• Engage with stakeholders to demonstrate test results provide concise quality reports and explain how automation and defect prevention measures contribute to better customer trust in billing transparency.

Qualifications

• Demonstrate strong hands on expertise in Playwright automation for modern web applications including script development execution triage and optimization for long term maintainability.
• Apply proven experience with RestAssured to validate complex bill inquiry application programming interfaces including request response structures headers authorization flows and error scenarios.
• Utilize solid JavaScript programming skills to design modular automation code implement utilities manage asynchronous operations and integrate with supporting test tools or libraries.
• Bring practical domain experience in bill inquiry handling including billing adjustments dispute flows payment clarifications and statement breakdowns to design realistic and high value test scenarios.
• Show a track record of five to eight years in quality engineering or test automation roles working in agile product teams and delivering stable releases for customer facing systems.
• Communicate clearly with cross functional partners in a multinational setting adapting information to technical and non technical audiences while supporting an inclusive hybrid work culture.

Certifications Required

ISTQB Certified Tester Advanced Level Test Automation Engineer or any equivalent test automation certification
