Gentherm is seeking a Quality Engineer in Apodaca, Nuevo León, to implement quality systems ensuring compliance with customer requirements. The ideal candidate will have an engineering degree and 3-5 years of experience in the automotive industry, alongside knowledge in ISO standards and problem-solving.

Formación

  • 3 to 5 years' experience in the automotive industry focusing on quality systems.
  • Advanced English level required.

Quality Engineer – Impact and Opportunity

Direct responsible for implementation of systems and controls necessary in the production process to ensure compliance of the product and process with customer requirements, participating in early stages of launch with direct responsibility in the realization and submission of PPAP to customers, as well as the implementation of corrective actions at any stage of the process to correct nonconformities of the product, process or system.

Essential Functions And Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain documented procedures of quality product.
  • Develop/Review/Update quality plans.
  • Identify and acquire any control, process, equipment (including inspection and testing equipment), accessories, resources, and skills necessary to meet the required quality.
  • Identify and prepare records of quality products.
  • Preserve documentation of quality plans as directed in the procedure for record keeping data.
  • Define and establish measuring techniques and sampling plans.
  • Define and establish reaction plans when acceptance criteria are not fulfilled.
  • Identify and implement statistical methods of verification/validation where applicable or as directed by the quality plans.
  • Participate in the selection and evaluation of measuring equipment.
  • Document corrective and preventive actions according to documented procedures relating to handling of customer complaints.
  • Participate in activities related to the process of Advanced Quality Planning according to the phases that indicate involvement.
  • Participate in activities related to IPPM reduction and implement corrective actions.
  • Comply with and meet specific customer requirements.
  • Identify the need to use statistical techniques for process control.
  • Develop priorities for customer-related problems.
  • Perform updates as necessary, quality control, inspection and testing techniques, including the development of new instrumentation.
  • Define proper identification and verification at appropriate stages in the product realization.
  • Manage, record, and report all costs incurred in quality activities (Cost of Quality).
  • Assist to certify and release tooling, inspection equipment and testing among others during production.
  • Comply with the quality system requirements and the assignments of the quality management.
  • Efficiently supervise staff.
  • Create a control plan with a summary of all critical and significant characteristics, listing inspections to occur on the prototype part and incoming new materials.
  • Create pilot series control plan and summarize necessary inspections for each production step, defining characteristics, inspection methods, frequency, gauge type, responsibilities, and corrective actions.
  • Conduct equipment measurements (MSA) and record data in equipment database.
  • Develop and preserve documentation regarding the Production Parts Approval Process (PPAP).
  • Review customer drawings for significant/critical characteristics prior to PPAP and update APQP documents.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Degree in Engineering.
  • 3 to 5 years’ experience in the automotive industry focusing on quality systems.
  • Knowledge in ISO 9000 & IATF 16949.
  • Knowledge of Problem Solving.
  • Knowledge in Statistical Tools.
  • Knowledge in Core Tools (APQP, PPAP, SPC, MSA, FMEA).
  • English level advanced.
  • Leadership.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Desired experience in valve processes and lumbar support systems (comfort settings, fluid systems).
  • Desired experience with clients such as Ford, BMW, and Stellantis.
  • Ability to handle internal/external audits.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
