Marelli is seeking a QMP Manager in Juarez, Mexico to lead all project quality activities from award through SOP and production ramp. You will ensure 100% APQP deliverables, customer satisfaction, and robust supplier collaboration.

Join a fast-paced international team, drive risk mitigation, lead PPAP submissions, and develop a high-performing quality team across cross-functional functions in automotive manufacturing.

Formación

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics Engineering or a related field.
  • Master's Degree preferred.
  • 5–8 years of experience in automotive quality management.
  • 3 years leading quality activities for new product launches.
  • Experience with Tier 1 automotive suppliers.
  • Strong background in product and process industrialization.
  • Experience managing customer-facing quality activities.
  • Advanced English required.

Responsabilidades

  • Lead all project quality activities for new programs and engineering changes.
  • Ensure compliance with APQP methodology and CSR requirements.
  • Coordinate DFMEA/PFMEA, Process Flow Diagrams, Control Plans and Quality Gate Reviews.
  • Drive PPAP preparation, submission and customer approvals.
  • Participate in design reviews and product/process validation activities.
  • Support project teams in achieving quality, cost, and timing objectives.
  • Ensure readiness for SOP and production ramp-up.
  • Lead launch quality assessments and Run@Rate activities.

About the Position:

We are looking for a QMP Manager to join the Quality, Lightingteam, reporting directly to the QMP Manager.

This position is based at our office in Juarez,Chihuahua,Mexico.

As the QMP Manager at Marelli, you will be responsible/support/elevate.....

Your Responsibilities will be:
New Project Quality Management
  • Lead quality planning and execution activities for new programs and engineering changes.
  • Ensure compliance with APQP methodology and customer‑specific requirements.
  • Coordinate the development and maintenance of:
    • DFMEA and PFMEA
    • Process Flow Diagrams
    • Control Plans
    • Quality Gate Reviews
  • Drive PPAP preparation, submission, and customer approval.
  • Participate in design reviews and product/process validation activities.
  • Support project teams in achieving quality, cost, and timing objectives.
Program Launch Management
  • Ensure readiness for successful SOP and production ramp‑up.
  • Lead launch quality assessments, Run@Rate activities, and launch audits.
  • Identify product and process risks and implement mitigation plans.
  • Monitor launch performance metrics and implement corrective actions when necessary.
  • Ensure lessons learned are captured and incorporated into future programs.
Customer Quality Interface
  • Serve as the primary quality representative for customers during project development.
  • Manage customer requirements, concerns, audits, and escalation processes.
  • Coordinate responses to quality issues and customer complaints during project phases.
  • Support customer visits and quality reviews related to new programs.
Supplier Quality Collaboration
  • Work closely with Supplier Quality teams to ensure supplier readiness for new launches.
  • Participate in supplier audits and qualification activities.
  • Monitor supplier APQP/PPAP progress and quality performance.
  • Support issue resolution and corrective action implementation with suppliers.
Compliance and Continuous Improvement
  • Ensure compliance with:
    • IATF 16949
    • ISO 9001
    • Marelli Quality Standards
    • Customer‑Specific Requirements (CSR)
  • Lead problem‑solving activities using:
    • 8D Methodology
    • 5 Why Analysis
    • Ishikawa (Fishbone)
    • Root Cause Analysis tools
  • Promote a preventive quality culture and continuous improvement mindset.
What Qualifications you will bring:
Education
  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related field.
  • Master's Degree preferred.
Experience
  • Minimum 5–8 years of experience in automotive quality management.
  • At least 3 years of experience leading quality activities for new product launches.
  • Experience within Tier 1 automotive suppliers preferred.
  • Strong background in product and process industrialization.
  • Experience managing customer‑facing quality activities.

  • PPAP Approval On‑Time Rate.
  • APQP Milestone Compliance.
  • Launch Quality Performance.
  • Customer PPM during launch phase.
  • Number of launch‑related quality incidents.
  • Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) for new projects.
  • Corrective Action Closure Rate.
  • Launch Readiness Assessment Results.
Authority
  • Escalate quality risks that could impact product launch or customer satisfaction.
  • Approve quality deliverables within the APQP process.
  • Request corrective actions from internal departments and suppliers.
  • Recommend launch delays or containment actions when critical quality risks are identified.
  • Represent the quality organization in project decision‑making forums.

The QMP Manager – New Projects is expected to:

  • Lead all project quality activities independently and proactively from project award through SOP and production stabilization.
  • Ensure 100% compliance with APQP deliverables, customer requirements, and internal Marelli standards.
  • Drive risk identification and mitigation early in the development process to prevent launch issues.
  • Achieve on‑time PPAP submissions and customer approvals.
  • Foster strong relationships with customers, engineering teams, suppliers, and cross‑functional stakeholders.
  • Deliver flawless launches with minimal customer disruptions, warranty concerns, or quality incidents.
  • Act as the voice of quality in project reviews and business decisions.
  • Develop and maintain a high‑performing team of Project Quality Engineers.
