Avnet México in Jalisco seeks an experienced Purchasing, Order Management and Logistics professional to align purchases with business strategies and financial goals. You will oversee supplier relationships, manage orders, and drive on-time delivery while optimizing inventory and supplier performance.

The role demands extensive experience in purchasing processes, supplier negotiations, and cross-functional collaboration within a global technology distributor.

Formación

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • Strong experience with purchasing, order management, and logistics.
  • Proven ability to negotiate pricing and manage supplier performance.

Responsabilidades

  • Purchases and provides order fulfillment activities to impact inventory turns and on-time delivery.
  • Manages order status, shipping details, and updates in company systems.
  • Tracks PO backlog, reports, and communicates with matrix teams to meet deliveries.
  • Develops supplier relationships and holds them accountable for shipping commitments.
  • Negotiates pricing with suppliers and quotes to sales for opportunities.
  • Collaborates with warehouse and logistics teams to ensure timely product receipt and delivery.
  • Manages non-conforming inventory and product disposition.
  • Provides timely status updates to planners, sales, and customer operations.

Job Summary:

Responsible for purchasing, order management and logistics to mitigate risk and enable profitability. Aligns purchases with the business strategies and financial goals.

Principal Responsibilities:
  • Purchases and provides order fulfillment activities in support of business demand to positively impact inventory turns and have predictable and accurate supplier on-time delivery.
  • Manages the order status process, including ensuring shipping and delivery information is accurate in company's systems.
  • Ensures post Purchase Order (PO) placement updates are complete following PO backlog management process to include tracking, reporting and communication with matrix team members along with working with supplier(s) to meet deliveries.
  • Develops and manages relationship with suppliers to hold them accountable for meeting shipping and delivery commitments to include system and process improvements at both company and the supplier.
  • Negotiates pricing with suppliers and provide quotes to sales team to support customer opportunities.
  • Works with warehouse and logistics teams, including transportation carriers, to ensure product is received and delivered on time; lead/drive/support process improvements.
  • Manages non-conforming inventory, including product disposition and in-process failures.
  • Provides timely communication to planners, sales and customer operations on order status and problem resolution.
  • Assists in managing inventory aging and fill rate including disposition - stock rotation/liquidations as appropriate to meet the goals of the business.
  • Supports group and/or organization key initiatives and objectives through contributions on project teams to include support of supplier management activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Extensive knowledge and application of principles, theories and concepts. Complete knowledge of all job functions and the broad industry best practices, techniques and standards. Develops solutions to complex problems where analysis of situations and/or data requires in-depth evaluation of variables. Determine best approach to achieve results and provide suggestions to improve policies and procedures. Work is performed independently and requires the exercise of judgment and discretion. Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments. Work may be reviewed at a high-level. May represent the organization as a primary contact on assignments and/or projects. Interacts with senior professionals and management and frequently coordinates work between departments or organizations. Actions may impact the organization. Failure to accomplish work will result in the inability to reach crucial organizational goals. Erroneous decisions may have a prolonged effect resulting in the expenditure of substantial resources. Lead and develop the Purchasing team by setting clear expectations, coaching performance, driving accountability, and ensuring KPI targets are consistently achieved through effective workload management, continuous process improvement, cross-functional collaboration, and timely resolution of supply chain issues. Provide ongoing guidance, support, and escalation assistance to team members, ensuring questions, challenges, and operational issues are addressed promptly while fostering a collaborative environment that enables employees to perform effectively and consistently meet individual and team objectives.

Work Experience:

Typically 5+ years with bachelor's or equivalent.

Education and Certification(s):

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience from which comparable knowledge and job skills can be obtained.
