Job summary

FORVIA HELLA in El Salto, Jalisco is seeking a Purchasing professional to support definition and execution of material group strategies. You will assist in supplier evaluations, cost planning, and ensuring alignment with production needs during series manufacturing.

Key tasks include updating supplier matrices, developing alternative suppliers, and supporting pre-series purchasing while upholding Hella values and purchasing standards. English communication and MS Office proficiency are required.

Responsibilities

• Support in preparing and updating supplier matrix and qualified supplier evaluations.
• Support in building up alternative suppliers to meet targets in cost, time and quality.
• Know and apply purchasing standards and processes to ensure stable production during series phase.
• Assist in executing series purchasing processes, including material cost planning and supplier capacity monitoring.
• Support cost reduction initiatives such as ReDtC and understand product and material manufacturing processes.
• Support pre-series purchasing for specific products and ensure milestone adherence.
• Assist in transferring procurement responsibilities to logistics after PPAP approval.

YOUR TASKS

Job Objective

Support in implementation of the material group strategy for a defined material group. Preparation of sourcing activities (Project Manager Purchasing). Involvement in the annual material cost planning process for the material group (MGS). Support in executing supplier and material related tasks during series production.

Duties And Responsibilities

A Purchasing Tasks

• Support in preparing and updating supplier matrix, support in preparing qualified supplier evaluations and support in building up of alternative suppliers to meet or overachieve purchasing targets in the dimensions of “Cost”, “Time” and “Quality” in alignment with the responsible party from Product Centers and Business Division.
• Support in preparing and implement a purchasing strategy for up to small complex material groups with defined strategy teams.Support definition of material cost changes (budgeting) in agreement with the Hella Companies and superior to create an aligned planning basis and to achieve business division objectives.

B Operative Purchaser

• Know the Hella-values as well as purchasing standards, processes and tools required to ensure a stable and target oriented production during series phase.
• Support in executing series purchasing processes for material group specific materials, including but not limited to material cost planning, supplier assessment, supplier capacity monitoring, engineering change management, support for critical parts management, series material ordering outside ERP-runs and transfer responsibility during product relocations.
• Support in ensuring sufficient production capacity for series business at supplier, managing stock increases, packaging and logistics related topics in case of bottlenecks or insolvencies.
• Support the identification and achievement of cost potentials resulting from Re-Design-to-Cost (ReDtC). For that, an understanding of the product engineering process and the material manufacturing process is needed.

C Project Manager

• Know and apply the Hella-values as well as purchasing standards, processes and tools along the product engineering process.
• Support in driving pre-series purchasing processes for specific Hella products, challenging the project team to keep project milestone important for the execution of purchasing tasks on time.
• Support in transferring of responsibly for material procurement to the logistics department of the Hella production plant after released Production Part Approval Process (PPAP)
