Job summary

Metso is seeking a Proposal Engineer for CSP Upgrades in the Crushing Service Products line. Based in Brookfield, Irapuato, Sorocaba, or Tampere with hybrid work options, you will lead proposal preparation, coordinate with engineering, sales, and procurement, and ensure competitive, compliant bids for crusher upgrade projects.

You will report to the Upgrade Proposals Manager, travel ~10%, and collaborate with a global team to deliver value and technical excellence in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in proposals, PM, or sales of mining/mechanical equipment.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in related field.
• Experience in cross-functional teams across engineering, sales, and project environments.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and technical docs.
• Strong organization and deadline management.
• Proficiency with Salesforce and SAP is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage proposal workload and on-time delivery aligned with targets.
• Coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders to drive progress.
• Prepare accurate proposals and required supporting docs.
• Review RFQs and distribute specs to relevant teams.

Introduction

We are looking for a Proposal Engineer – CSP Upgrades to join our Crushing Service Products Business Line team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and delivering proposals for crusher upgrade projects, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality, competitive bids that support business growth and customer success. You will report to the Upgrade Proposals Manager.

This role can be based in Brookfield, Irapuato, Soocaba, or Tampere with hybrid working options available.

You will join a team of 3 proposal professionals focused on delivering high-quality technical proposals for crusher upgrades and related solutions. Our team plays a key role in supporting revenue growth and margin targets by ensuring accurate, timely, and competitive proposals, with a shared focus on delivering customer value and technical excellence. We collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders, including Market Areas, Product Management, Engineering, Sales, Sourcing, and Finance. Our team is based in Finland, Germany, Brazil, and other global locations, and our ways of working emphasize collaboration, accountability, and operating in a fast-paced environment.

What You'll Do

• Manage proposal workload and timelines to ensure on-time delivery aligned with financial targets for bookings and margin.
• Coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders to drive proposal progress and alignment.
• Prepare accurate, high-quality proposals and supporting documentation in line with company standards.
• Review customer requests for quotation (RFQs) and distribute specifications to relevant teams for input.
• Support bid/no-bid decisions and contribute to proposal strategy development.
• Define project scope, value proposition, and execution plans with internal stakeholders.
• Partner with sourcing and procurement teams to develop cost estimates and assess risks and opportunities.
• Review contractual terms in coordination with legal teams to ensure compliance with company policies.

What You'll Bring

• 5+ years of experience in proposals, project management, engineering, or sales of mining or mechanical equipment.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mining, Mineral Processing, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience working in cross-functional teams across engineering, sales, and project environments.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365 tools, including Teams, SharePoint, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Experience with Salesforce and SAP (nice to have).
• Knowledge of crushing equipment and related products (nice to have).
