Join to our team as Professional Controls Engineer for our Lifecycle Solutions and Services (LSS) Modernizations and Upgrades team.
The ideal candidate typically has a minimum of 4-8 years of experience in Controls engineering. Qualified candidates are proficient in planning, creating schematic and panel assembly drawings, working with PLCs (Allen Bradley and/or Siemens), HMIs, and VFDs, implementation and commissioning of engineering design projects. Employees to be based in Monterrey, N.L., however, must be willing to travel up to 50% to customer locations in the USA.

Tasks and Qualifications
- Complete the design of schematics and control panels.
- Perform full range of standard work for the professional field.
- Provide support in semi-complex material specification, schematic preparation, bill-of-materials development, and appropriate follow-up.
- Manage project budgets, schedules, and risks. Work to meet deadlines and deliverables, achieve budget, and manage risk with team leads.
- Participate in recommending ideas related to productivity improvement, cost reduction and improvement in customer satisfaction.
- Perform important areas of standard professional level work that typically requires processing and interpreting more complex, less clearly defined issues.
- Capable of solving complex or unusual problems related to Hardware and/or Software.
- Lead complex projects through the project lifecycle, including delegating project tasks accordingly.
- Perform site-audits at initiation of project to gather site information and confirm scope.
- Perform on-site commissioning activities independently or as part of a team.
- Review & report feedback of site readiness Audits (commissioning checklist/instructions).
- Attend meetings before travel with site lead/project manager.
- Own the Commissioning Plan and Schedule.
- Coordinate with field engineering teams, mechanical & controls, for project execution.
- Mentor and share knowledge with less experienced engineers.
- Provide guidance to installation teams.
- Follow current safety best practices while on-site and aware of current safety design practices.
What we are looking for
- BS/BA in electrical engineering or advanced degree.
- 4+ years of successful experience in related field.
- Previous experience leading the design of semi-complex systems that integrate hardware and software, including all documentation and forecasting.
- Demonstrates and applies a broad knowledge of field of specialization through successful completion of moderately complex assignments.
- Demonstrates knowledge of organization's business practices and issues.
- Proficient in AutoCAD.
- Proficient in either Rockwell or Siemens PLCs.
- Knowledgeable on AC drives, both open & closed loop.
- Experience in Ethernet IP network design and machine safety a plus.
