A manufacturing company in Tijuana is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead and coordinate daily operations in the metal mechanics area. Responsibilities include ensuring production goals are met in safety, quality, and efficiency while overseeing staff and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate has a background in industrial engineering and production supervision within the metal mechanics industry, with strong skills in Lean Manufacturing and a focus on team development.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plan, organize and direct manufacturing activities for specific areas of the plant to meet established plant objectives. Serve as a teacher, coach and advisor to facilitate teamwork and continued employee development. Act as a resource to less senior supervisors and in most cases has supervisors reporting to him/her.
Supervise production personnel and assign daily tasks to meet production plans and objectives.
Monitor manufacturing processes, ensuring compliance with safety standards, quality requirements, and production schedules.
Oversee the correct use of machinery, tools, and equipment within the metal mechanics area.
Ensure compliance with special processes such as 6S, ISO 9000, and customer-specific requirements.
Manage non-conforming materials, ensuring timely documentation and corrective actions.
Coordinate with supervisors and managers from other departments to resolve issues impacting production flow.
Maintain accurate production reports, records, and KPI tracking.
Train, coach, and evaluate team members, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Implement corrective and preventive actions to ensure customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
Support health, safety, and environmental policies in alignment with company standards.
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field (preferred).
3–5 years of experience in production supervision within the metal mechanics industry.
Strong knowledge of metal fabrication processes (sheet metal, welding, painting, machining).
Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.
Familiarity with ISO 9000/14000 standards and safety regulations.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
Bilingual: English and Spanish (intermediate to advanced).
Strong leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
