A Day in the Life

Bachelor’s degree in a related field, such as industrial engineering or administration; master’s degree is a plus.

A minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in planning & purchasing.

Experience with MRP is essential. APICS certification is highly desirable.

Ability to manage multiple tasks and establish effective work priorities.

Working knowledge in a manufacturing environment and experience with lean manufacturing.

Excellent analytical, planning, administrative, and time management skills.

Capable of working efficiently under pressure with a high sense of urgency.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

Responsibilities may include the following, among other duties:

• Planning, preparing, issuing, and controlling production schedules; directing material requirements to ensure a controlled flow of raw and finished goods materials to meet production needs.
• Advising management on the status of work in progress, material availability, inventory levels, and potential disruptions to ensure timely and cost-effective resources.
• Scheduling equipment and personnel, confirming material supply and demands, and preparing work orders or purchase requests based on master production schedules, shop load, and inventory requirements.
• Coordinating interdepartmental activities with quality assurance, manufacturing, purchasing, engineering, inventory control, traffic, and demand planning; scheduling and expediting movement of parts.
