Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Sr Production Manager to lead the assigned production area, ensuring safety, efficiency, and quality. You will work with Production Supervisors and cross-functional partners to manage staffing, scheduling, line balance, scrap and rework, and continuous improvement activities.

The role emphasizes hands-on floor leadership, root-cause problem solving, and sustaining a culture of standard work and accountability.

Qualifications

• 8+ years leading production/manufacturing teams in a fast-paced environment.
• Proven ability to supervise Production Supervisors and manage multiple priorities.
• Strong background in safety, quality, scheduling, line balancing, and overtime control.
• Ability to interpret KPIs and financial results and translate into actions.
• Experience with continuous improvement methods (JCMS, 5S, Kaizen, Lean, problem solving).
• Experience coordinating with cross-functional partners to solve operational issues.

Responsibilities

• Lead the production area to meet safety, efficiency, profitability, and quality goals.
• Direct Production Supervisors and support personnel to deliver daily and weekly output targets.
• Manage scheduling, line balancing, build control, overtime, staffing, and production documentation.
• Review production and quality requirements, identify gaps, and drive corrective action.
• Monitor scrap, rework, and downtime, and implement actions to improve throughput and cost performance.
• Support safety training and maintain a safe, healthy, organized work environment.
• Partner with quality, maintenance, planning, and other functions to remove barriers to execution.
• Track KPIs and financial indicators, then implement actions to improve results.
• Coach and develop supervisors to strengthen accountability and problem solving.
• Promote standard work, housekeeping, and disciplined follow-up across the area.
