The Product Manager – US Payroll will play a key role in defining, building, and delivering high-quality SaaS payroll solutions tailored to U.S. compliance and business needs. This role bridges strategic product vision with practical execution—translating epics into actionable user stories, collaborating across functions, and ensuring product excellence through customer-focused decision-making and iterative feedback.
Translate product strategy and epics into actionable user stories and a prioritized backlog aligned with business and customer needs.
Serve as the customer advocate during agile ceremonies, ensuring clear requirements and well-defined acceptance criteria.
Partner with engineering, design, and QA to deliver high-quality, user-centered SaaS features.
Manage backlog grooming, sprint planning, and release readiness to ensure smooth delivery cycles.
Conduct product demos and collect stakeholder feedback to drive continuous product improvement.
Coordinate cross-functional communication to ensure alignment and timely delivery of product milestones.
Collaborate with implementation and support teams to gather feedback and address operational issues proactively.
Balance technical and functional tradeoffs to support scalability for larger payroll customers.
Proven experience in Product Management within payroll, HRIS, or financial SaaS platforms.
Strong understanding of agile product development practices and backlog management.
Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to translate complex compliance requirements into simple, actionable product solutions.
Strong problem-solving skills with a customer-centric approach.
Deep understanding of end-to-end U.S. payroll workflows, including earnings, deductions, taxes, retro pay, garnishments, GL integration, and direct deposits.
Familiarity with U.S. federal, state, and local payroll compliance laws (taxation, wage & hour rules, year-end reporting such as W-2, 1099, etc.).
Awareness of integration points with other HRIS systems such as Time & Attendance and Benefits.
Ability to assess and communicate the impact of product changes on related modules and integrations.
