Responsibilities

• Create layout, detail and assembly drawings ensuring no packaging or interference issues.
• Apply design and engineering best practices including PDfSS, drawing standards, FEA and tolerance analysis.
• Release design data on time to support high-quality assemblies for testing.
• Support root cause analysis for test failures and safety concerns.
• Provide test specs and set up for product testing in assigned design area.
• Develop DFMEAs prior to prototype tooling releases.
• Develop technical solutions to meet cost, performance, timing and weight goals.
• Support suppliers in product development and drawing creation.
• Perform tolerance stack-ups to ensure quality and performance.
• Use appropriate tools/technology for technical solutions.
• Stay aware of advancing technology and implement when appropriate.
• Document changes with CAs, IRs or DAs as needed.
• Maintain BOM through PDM and assist in costing and quoting.

Applies best practices in creating layout drawings, detail drawings and assembly drawings. Uses customer’s environment drawings to ensure no packaging or interference problems exist in the drawings/data.2. Applies best practices in design and engineering. This can include but is not limited to PDfSS, drawing standards, FEA, GD&T, root cause analysis, DVP, DFMEA, hand calculations and use of carry-over and CPP technology.3. Executes robust design/design changes to provide the highest quality in the build and assembly of prototype parts with agreed to process. Ensures design data is released on-time to support highest quality assemblies for testing and the customer.4. Supports root cause analysis in the resolution of test failures. Informs any potential safety concern.5. Provides test specifications and reviews set up for product testing in assigned area of design responsibility.6. Supports generation of DFMEAs prior to release of prototype tooling.7. Develops technical solutions that support business objectives (cost, performance, timing, weight, and investment).8. Technically supports suppliers in product development and drawing creation.9. Performs design studies or tolerance stack-ups to ensure highest quality product assembly and performance.10. Executes best practices and early detection for BSR.11. Uses the right tool/technology for providing technical solution to program/product issues.12.
