Job summary

Advanced Energy is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer in Mexicali, Mexico to develop, implement, and sustain processes for parts and assemblies. The role interfaces with Design, Test, and Reliability Engineering to ensure successful launches and sustained cost and yield improvements.

The position emphasizes Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma-driven improvements, and cross-functional teamwork across design, production and quality. Domestic/international travel may be required.

• Requires problem-solving ability and effective communication with design teams, vendors, and customers.
• Business-level communication and teamwork are essential for cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Support and implement Lean Manufacturing tools (SMED, one piece flow, manufacturing cells).
• Drive continuous quality improvements and eliminate non-value added activities.
• Participate in improvements of manufacturing metrics.
• Balance manufacturing lines/cells according to TAKT time.
• Identify and develop projects using Six Sigma tools.
• Document manufacturing processes thoroughly.
• Request, generate, validate, and/or implement ECRs and ECNs.
• Support new product introductions and prototypes.
• Collaborate with other departments as needed.
• Select, specify, recommend, and/or design tools and equipment.
• Identify manufacturability issues (DFM).
• Coordinate with corporate personnel as necessary.
• Generate applicable reports and charts.
• Train colleagues, technicians, and operators when required.
• Support PFMEA, Control Plans, etc.
• Conduct failure analysis for continuous improvement.
• Plan and coordinate preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance for equipment.
• Generate, analyze and update standard times.
