Aramco seeks a Process Engineer with extensive SRU and SWS experience to join the Operations Engineering Solutions Department. The role focuses on monitoring, optimizing, and driving performance improvements for refinery SRU and SWS units across Global Manufacturing facilities, with both remote and on-site technical support.

Ideal candidates have 15+ years in refinery/gas plant process units, at least 10 years in SRU/SWS, and strong data-analysis and presentation skills.

Formación

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related field (advanced degree preferred).
  • 15+ years in refinery or gas plant process units, with 10+ years hands-on SRU/SWS experience.
  • Knowledge of SRU/TGTU process licensor technologies.
  • Experience in troubleshooting, start-up/shutdown, and capacity tests for SRU & SWS.

Responsabilidades

Overview We are seeking a Process Engineer with extensive hands‑on expertise in Sulfur Recovery Unit (SRU) and Sour Water Stripper (SWS) processes to join our Operation Engineering Solutions Department (OESD). OESD's technical team is responsible for providing high-quality, multi-disciplinary support to Global Manufacturing operating facilities (Refineries, NGLF, and petrochemical plants) within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and globally. Your primary role is to provide in-depth process engineering and operations expertise to monitor, optimize, and drive performance improvement programs for refineries' SRU & SWS, including remote and on‑site technical advisory support, benchmarking, and technology knowledge management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular performance reviews of existing SRU & SWS facilities and analyze KPIs related to operability, profitability, reliability, and process safety.
  • Develop and present quarterly benchmarking reports with actionable improvement recommendations.
  • Provide hands‑on support in implementing performance improvement initiatives, demonstrating measurable results in closing identified gaps.
  • Lead benchmarking and best practices exchange workshops among Global Manufacturing facilities, facilitating knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and distribute bi‑monthly SRU & SWS technical best practices bulletins, ensuring knowledge dissemination across Global Manufacturing facilities.
  • Deliver on‑demand remote and field technical advisory support, including troubleshooting, start‑up/shutdown activities, capacity test runs, and technology pilot testing and provide detailed service reports for each support activity.
  • Collaborate with Global Manufacturing facilities engineers to identify and implement cost optimization and process improvement initiatives, focusing on "low‑hanging fruits" that require minimal capital investment.
  • Conduct internal assessments of SRU & SWS process engineering standards, ensuring alignment with Saudi Aramco engineering standards and supporting their implementation across Global Manufacturing facilities.
  • Participate in Business Plan development, coordinating with stakeholders on capital investments for SRU & SWS units and supporting techno‑economic evaluations.
  • Evaluate and recommend new SRU & SWS technologies and coordinate with relevant departments for assessment and piloting support.
  • Actively participate in external benchmarking activities with industry bodies such as Japan Cooperation Council Petroleum (JCCP) and Gulf Downstream Association (GDA).
Minimum Requirements
  • You will hold a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related specialization. An advanced degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of 15 years of total refinery or gas plants process units experience, with at least 10 years of hands‑on experience in handling SRUs/TGTU/SWS plants.
  • You will be able to optimize SRU & SWS operations, with specific examples of performance improvements achieved.
  • You will have in‑depth knowledge of SRU/TGTU process licensor technologies.
  • You will have a proven track record of conducting technical troubleshooting, start‑up, shutdown, and capacity test runs for SRU & SWS units.
  • You will have strong proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools specific to SRU & SWS performance metrics.
  • You will have strong management and coordination skills, with experience in stakeholder management.
  • You will also have excellent computer and presentation skills.
