Flex is seeking an SMT Process Engineer in Guadalajara, North Campus, to supervise SMT activities, optimize production plans, and lead a technical team toward quality, cost, and delivery goals.

You will develop programs for DEK, SPI, Camalot, and Press Fit equipment, analyze stencils, create procedures, and drive Kaizen and continuous improvement in PCB assembly.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• Experience in SMT, PTH, and Backend processes, SPI, edge bonding, and smart torque system.
• Familiarity with IPC‑A‑610, CPK calculations, CAD/Gerber files, and MS Office.
• Previous experience supervising and developing technical personnel.
• Experience with production control systems (serial control, flows, traceability).
• Schedule availability.

Responsabilités

• Document and implement continuous improvement actions and Kaizen events.
• Troubleshoot PCB Assembly process issues and participate in daily production activities.

Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a SMT Process Engineer located in Guadalajara, North Campus. Reporting to the Process Engineer Manager, this role is responsible for supervising critical SMT processes, ensuring the correct execution of production plans, and leading the technical team to meet quality, cost, delivery, and continuous improvement objectives.

What a typical day looks like:

Supervise technical activities in SMT processes and coordinate the team. Develop and optimize programs for DEK, SPI, Camalot, and Press Fit equipment. Analyze and validate stencils; perform SPI debug and P&P failure analysis. Develop reflow profiles as well as instrumentation of profiling boards. Create procedures, visual aids, and technical presentations. Perform capacity calculations, rates per station and identify bottlenecks in the process. Document and implement continuous improvement actions and Kaizen events. Should be able to troubleshoot PCB Assembly process issues. High level participation in daily production activities and effective problem solving on daily issues.

Experience we’re looking to add to our team:

• BA/BS or equivalent work experience.
• Experience in SMT, PTH, and Backend processes, SPI, edge bonding, and smart torque system Knowledge of stencil design, reflow profiling, tooling/fixture design, and pallet validation.
• Familiarity with IPC‑A‑610, CPK calculations, CAD/Gerber files, and MS Office.
• Previous experience supervising and developing technical personnel.
• Experience with production control systems (serial control, flows, traceability).
• Schedule availability.
