Corning Incorporated is seeking a Planning Supervisor to lead production planning and inventory optimization. You will drive S&OP processes, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and guide plant planners to balance capacity, material availability, and customer service goals.

The role requires 3–5 years in supply chain planning, SAP/ERP proficiency, and strong leadership. A bilingual English/Spanish capability and excellent Excel skills are essential for success in this manufacturing

Formación

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field (Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, International Business)
  • 3–5 years of supply chain experience focused on production planning and scheduling; prior Senior/Master Planner roles
  • 1–2 years of supervisory or team leadership experience
  • SAP experience and ERP system knowledge

Responsabilidades

  • Supervise planning, implementation, and optimization of activities for product delivery
  • Participate in monthly plant S&OP Partnership meetings at regional level
  • Develop capacity models and tactical operating plans; participate in demand/allocation management
  • Ensure raw material and finished goods inventory goals align with contracts and business strategy
  • Drive continuous improvements using Lean and Six Sigma tools
  • Report and ensure plant meets delivery metrics (on-time performance, order cycle time)
  • Manage and support new product implementation for final release to manufacturing
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by Supply Chain Manager
  • Overlap inventory goals with strategic stocking decisions

Role Purpose

Are you passionate about supply chain planning, inventory optimization, and leading teams to deliver exceptional customer service? Join our Supply Chain organization and play a key role in driving production planning, inventory strategy, and operational excellence. As a Planning Supervisor, you will lead planning activities, support S&OP processes, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure customer demand is met while optimizing inventory, capacity, and cash flow performance.

What is your role?

The Planning Supervisor is responsible for overseeing planning activities that support the efficient delivery of products to customers while balancing inventory, capacity, and operational objectives. This role works closely with Production, Quality, Technology, PLM, and Supply Chain teams to improve planning effectiveness, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and support business growth. The position also provides leadership and guidance to plant planners while serving as a subject matter expert in planning processes, inventory management, and ERP systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise the overall planning, implementation, and optimization of all activities and support required for delivery of products to customers.
  • Participate in monthly plant S&OP Partnership meetings to gain joint understanding and agreement at regional level.
  • Develops and utilizes capacity models and tactical operating plans. Participates in demand/allocation management process.
  • Accountability for raw material and finished goods inventory goals driven by strategic stocking decisions based on contract, business strategy, or material availability needs.
  • Drive continuous improvements utilizing lean and six sigma supply chain tools (Value stream mapping, Kaizen, DMAIC, etc.)
  • Reports and ensure plant meets targeted objectives for all delivery metrics including On-time Performance, Order Cycle Time, and order dating.
  • Manages and supports new product implementation, for the final release to manufacturing operations.
  • Other tasks as assigned by Supply Chain Manager.
  • Accountability for raw material and finished goods inventory goals driven by strategic stocking decisions based on contract, business strategy, or material availability needs.

Experiences/Education - Required
  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, International Business, or a related field.
  • 3 to 5 years of Supply Chain experience with a strong emphasis on production planning and scheduling.Previous experience in Senior Planner, Master Planner, or similar planning roles.
  • 1 to 2 years of supervisory or team leadership experience.
  • SAP experience and ERP system knowledge.
  • Experience with inventory management and capacity planning.Strong customer service orientation.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Fully bilingual English/Spanish.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Ability to work independently in a complex manufacturing environment.
Experiences/Education - Desired
  • APICS Certification (CPIM, CSCP, or equivalent).
  • Green Belt Certification or Lean Manufacturing knowledge.
  • Experience with S&OP processes.
  • Project planning and project management experience.
  • Multi-site manufacturing environment experience.
  • Continuous improvement background utilizing Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
