International SOS Government Medical Services seeks a Paramedic for an international healthcare assignment on Diego Garcia. You will respond to urgent cases, manage patients within scope, and support ambulance care and transfers as part of a clinical team.
The role requires relocation to Diego Garcia for the assignment duration, with responsibilities including patient monitoring, handovers, and equipment readiness. English proficiency and a valid Paramedic license are essential.
Take your paramedic experience beyond the traditional ambulance setting with an international healthcare assignment on Diego Garcia, a remote island in the Indian Ocean. You'll provide emergency medical care, support patient stabilization and transfers, and work alongside a clinical team delivering essential healthcare services.
At International SOS Government Medical Services, you'll support healthcare programs that improve patient care and operational readiness across the U.S. and internationally. Founded in 1984, International SOS operates in more than 90 countries, delivering healthcare, medical assistance, emergency response, and workforce support services worldwide.
As a Paramedic, you will respond to urgent and emergent presentations, manage patients within your authorized practice scope, and work with the medical team to support ambulance care and transfers. This internationally based healthcare assignment includes patient monitoring, clinical handovers, emergency equipment checks, and collaboration with authorized providers during routine and urgent services.
Patients may need care beyond what the local clinic can provide, so the ability to recognize escalation needs and communicate clearly during patient movement is important. You will also support medical readiness tasks when assigned, use the approved record system, and help keep airway supplies, monitors, oxygen equipment, medication kits, and trauma equipment prepared for the next call. You will also report patient safety issues and equipment concerns promptly through established clinical channels.
Employment Type: Full-time
Assignment Details: This position requires relocation to Diego Garcia, British Indian Ocean Territory, for the duration of the assignment.
Key Responsibilities
